"Conscientious student" project
The aim of the project is to disseminate knowledge on the history of medicine and pharmacy, to familiarise young people with ancient and modern pharmaceuticals, therapeutic methods, diagnostic methods, herbalism and herbal medicine. The main purpose of the didactic content prepared in the project is to promote the study of medicine in the Upper Silesia, emphasising the role of the medical profession and its social responsibility as a profession of high public trust. Classes for secondary school students were held in several thematic modules:
- "Medicines from the old pharmacy"
- "Action Resuscitation"
- "Naturotherapy"
- "What a drop of blood hides"
- "Deaf or deaf mute"
Given the opportunity to study at a University with traditions, the project will present the history of the duration of the medical professions chosen by the young people of the Metropolis, and future students will be introduced to the skills that doctors and pharmacists used to have in relation to modern research methods.
The project "Conscientious student - History of medicine and pharmacy in theory and practice from A to Z" has been co-financed by the Upper Silesian and Zagłębie Metropolis within the framework of the Programme "Metropolitan Fund for Support of Science" in the years 2022-2024.
