Learning to be healthy
"Learning to be healthy" project paid for with funds from the Ministry of Education and Science under contract no. SONP/SP/515376/2021 dated 13.04.2022 ; project name: "Learning to be healthy"; amount of funds: PLN 49,963.27.
Implementation period: 01.03.2022 - 29.02.2024
The project consists of two independent modules:
BETWEEN US GIRLS - activities for third and fourth year female secondary school students
This is a closed series of five 60-minute classes (participants sign up for all five classes of the series). Participants will be able to carry out examinations on mannequins themselves, take a close look at anatomical models - also in a digital 3D version, pick up instruments, try out exercises, etc.
The class aims to provide an introduction to the work of specialists involved in women's care, a practical presentation of examinations/exercises aimed at women, as well as a theoretical and practical presentation of preventive examinations in gynaecology and obstetrics, gynaecological physiotherapy and compulsory and recommended vaccinations.
Class topics:
- The midwife - a woman's best friend. Presentation of different aspects of the midwife's work: working in the delivery room, in the gynaecological ward and as a community midwife.
- Gynaecologist's office - I know what awaits me, I am no longer afraid of the first visit. Presentation of the gynaecologist's surgery, basic instruments and screening tests. Presentation of the gynaecology profession.
- Pelvic floor muscle training - physiotherapy for women. Presentation of the physiotherapy profession with special emphasis on urogynaecological physiotherapy.
- Tumour or no tumour? Breast self-examination. Class led by surgical and oncology nurses. Presentation of different aspects of the nursing profession.
- Why is vaccination important? - About HPV and other women's diseases. Class on various female diseases and modern ways to prevent them.
AND YOU CAN BECOME - activities aimed at pre-school and early school children
These are sixty-minute classes conducted in a fun and role-play format. Participants learn what the different specialists do, what basic medical procedures look like and how and for what purpose the different diagnostic tests are carried out.
During the meetings, children have the opportunity to play the role of a medic, learn about the instruments he or she uses and carry out some examinations and procedures on phantoms.
A variety of media techniques will be used during the activities: films, music, visual arts and movement activities.
