Agreement on cooperation between SUM and the Silesian Library
The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice signed a framework agreement with the Silesian Library on December 1st, 2021.
Within the framework of the Agreement, the parties declare their mutual support and cooperation in stimulating public interest in medical sciences, with particular emphasis on research conducted in Silesian centres, strengthening circles involved in the popularisation of medical knowledge, building public awareness of the need for health protection and promotion.
The aim of the collaboration is to:
- implementation of joint projects to popularise medical science,
- organisation of exhibitions, lectures and seminars,
- publication of popular science publications.
The agreement provides for the Silesian Medical University to support the Silesian Library in terms of content, access to the collections of the SUM Library and the SUM Museum of Medicine and Pharmacy, as well as organisational support in the implementation of joint projects related to the dissemination of medical knowledge and the popularisation of the history of medicine in Silesia.
The Silesian Library has pledged to provide access to the collection and infrastructure (digitisation and digitalisation facilities), as well as organisational support for joint projects.
