Activities promoting science (DUN)
The Library of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice in 2018 received funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the field of promoting science (DUN) for the task 'Digitalisation and dissemination of unique materials on the history of medicine in Upper Silesia and Cieszyn Silesia from the collection of the Main Library of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice - a task financed under agreement No. 584/P-DUN/2018 of 18.06.2018 from the funds of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education earmarked for promoting of science'.
The project has digitised (all works only in Polish):
- Józef Polak's O znaczeniu sztuki lekarskiej i o stanowisku lekarzy (Warsaw 1883),
- Adam Bendarski's Okulistyka ziołopisów polskich w XVI i na początku XVII wieku (Lviv 1917),
- anonymous Zakład zdrojowo-kąpielowy Rymanów. Solanka jodo-bromowa w Galicyi (Lviv 1894),
- manucript [Receptariusz apteczny Szpitala Chorób Płucnych w Cieszynie],
- colection: Kartoteka nekrologów osób związanych z medycyną na Górnym Śląsku z prasy regionalnej i fachowej za lata 1988–2017established at the SUM Main Library.
The digitised materials have been placed in the resources of the Silesian Digital Library.
In 2014, the Library of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice received funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education from the scope of activities promoting science (DUN), for the implementation of the task "Digitisation and posting of Internet of unique materials concerning the history of medicine of Upper Silesia and Cieszyn Region from the collection of the Main Library of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice".
The digitised materials have been placed in the collection of Silesian Digital Library.
The Library of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice received funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in 2014 from the scope of activities promoting science (DUN), for the task 'Purchase of a bibliographic-factographic conversion service for the works database of the Documentation Centre for the History of Medicine and Pharmacy of Upper Silesia to the Aleph500 programme'.
