On 6\u201310 October 2025, librarians from the Bibliography and Bibliometrics Department of the Medical University of Silesia took part in the Staff Week for Health Sciences Librarians under the Erasmus+ programme as an event partner. The meeting was held at NOVA Medical School in Lisbon and brought together librarians from medical universities in Finland, Spain, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mobility training involved a virtual element, during which the participants' institutions were presented, and a stationary element containing thematic presentations. The program also included visits to the university libraries of NOVA Medical School and NOVA School of Business and Economics. During their presentations, the specialists addressed key issues for modern academic libraries, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n
supporting researchers and students in their search for scientific information and systematic reviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n
bibliometrics and analysis of scientific output<\/li>\n\n\n\n
open science, open access, and research data management<\/li>\n\n\n\n
development of library collections and catalogs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
modern forms of teaching and research support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
The meeting provided an opportunity for librarians from medical universities from different countries to share their experiences and discuss the challenges facing academic libraries, as well as ways to effectively support the scientific activities of academic communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exchange with foreign specialists provided a new perspective on current activities and will contribute to library service improvement.
