We are delighted to announce that Aleksandra Guzia\u0142ek, MA, and Justyna Kopiec, MA, from the SUM Library won the best poster award at the European Association for Health Information and Libraries (EAHIL) conference held in Riga on 12-14 June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The poster, entitled 'Contribution to the Sustainability of the Library in Terms of Climate Change Using the Example of the Acquisition Department of a Medical Library', dealt with the actions of the Acquisition Department of the Library of the Medical University of Silesia towards sustainability and their effectiveness. The research was based on literature analysis, statistical data, interviews with staff and a survey of students and university staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Association for Health Information and Libraries has been active since 1987. The tasks of the organisation include promoting cooperation between medical libraries in Europe, raising the standards of services and activities in healthcare and medical academic libraries and supporting the professional development of medical librarians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
